“No Key Detected” — We Fix That
When your dashboard warns “No Key Detected,” it's usually not the key battery. It's a module-level communication failure that requires real diagnostics.
What “No Key Detected” Actually Means
The “No Key Detected” warning indicates that your vehicle's security module cannot communicate with the key fob. While a dead battery is the simplest cause, persistent warnings typically point to deeper issues.
Dead Key Battery
The simplest fix — but if replacing the battery doesn't resolve it, the problem is deeper.
Antenna Ring Failure
The receiver coil around the ignition or start button can fail, blocking key signal reception.
Module Corruption
FEM, CAS, or EIS modules can lose key data due to voltage spikes, software errors, or age.
RF Interference
Nearby electronics or aftermarket installations can interfere with the encrypted key signal.
Key Desynchronization
The rolling code between key and module can fall out of sync, requiring reprogramming.
Module Hardware Failure
Physical failure of the security module itself — requires replacement and programming.
